Our home grown Silver Posie Thyme gives a pretty bush with pink flowers in the summer and is excellent with Meat, Pasta or Salads for a mild spicy flavour.
There are over 100 species of Thyme. Used extensively in Ancient Greece, this herb may well have been employed in the Mediterranean region even earlier.
It is one of the great culinary herbs of European cookery. Thyme retains its flavour on drying better than many other herbs and there are few dishes that cannot be improved by Thyme. Its flavour blends well with many other herbs and especially rosemary, enhancing them without overpowering the flavour.
